The CAR287 Story
CAR287 has evolved into a Canadian Rock band creating songs that tell a story over powerful guitar based music. Through the distinctly different vocals of the 2 singers Jay Yarmey and Travis Wog you can hear echoes of their inspirations like The Tragically Hip, 70’s arena rock and 2000s indie. The 5 piece bands’s debut album “Looking Through The Lens” recorded at Winnipeg’s Private Ear Studios has tracks that span many different genres and has gained critical acclaim as an ambitious first release. Recorded live off the floor, the recording manages to capture the live energy that the band is known for. CAR287’s music has been described as nostalgic and familiar, but fresh. 2025 was a breakout year for CAR287 and 2026 will be even better, call shotgun and hop on board for the ride!

The Private Ear Sessions
The band recorded their first full album in June of 2024 at Private Ear Recording Studio in Winnipeg, Canada.
Covers to Originals, Our Story
Our band came together as a bunch of guys who had played various types of music with different musical backgrounds. We learned each others music and started playing some live shows, all covers. We were just getting pretty good and ready to play some bigger venues when the pandemic hit. Stalled and looking for an outlet, at some point we started collaborating on originals!
Where are we going?
Where do we go from here? What an amazing year 2025 was for this band, we played some great festivals, we played all kinds of venues and met some amazing acts that will likely become lifelong friends! For 2026 we are setting our sites on some festivals and continuing our run of shows for our friends here in Winnipeg! We have lots of new material and will be looking to record in spring of 2026 with release of several songs throughout the year, and maybe an album in the winter of 2026. This has been so fun and we are forever grateful!!!
